THE WARDROPE FAMILY | SUMMER PORTRAITS AT TYDINGS PARK
"Against all odds and despite all the obstacles,
we are going to make it."
When I hosted a portrait day at Tydings Park in Havre De Grace, I was unaware that I would meet a family with such strength and humility. The Wardropes, Mackenzie, Greg, and their sweet baby Adelaide, show true strength in the face of adversity when life has rocked them to their core. Addie who will be two in January, is one of the most precious baby girls, learning and growing each and every day. She did so amazing during the portrait session, occasionally cracking a slight smile in my direction.
Shortly after Addie was born, Mackenzie and Greg discovered that their baby was SCN8A deficient, exposing her to random and sometimes intense seizures. Greg told me directly, "its something you never ever hope to see". I can only imagine the immense toll the constant hospital visits and worry that these parents have endured. They didn't want to hide from filling their home with family portraits, or fearful that Addie wasn't capable. They are just like any other family, smiling and laughing together, not letting their obstacles hold them back. As you look through their session, look at their smiles. Despite this struggle, they are filled with joy - they love Addie with everything they have. Because of a simple twenty minute portrait shoot, I was able to meet people with such deep character, and capture a family truly held together by grace, faith, and love. It was inspiring to meet them, and hear their story. Thank you Wardropes for including me in your journey!
"These are absolutely GORGEOUS. We cannot possibly thank you enough!"
