SHAWN + ALYSSA | RUSTIC WEDDING AT STEPPINGSTONE MUSEUM
When you see authentic love in a couple, it's intoxicating. The type of love that has two people sold out for each other. A love that rarely is without a smile on it's face, or arms holding it tight. A love that never makes you question whether it will last, you just simply know.
That's what Alyssa + Shawn are like. One of those dream couples that reinforces your belief in true love.
It was set to rain, storms in the forecast for days without any notice of a change. At the rehearsal, they decided on three different locations for their ceremony, Plan A - C, C being everything held in the farmhouse barn where the reception was set up. They were positive, not worrying that their day would be ruined, but that no matter what plan happened, it would be one of the best days of their lives. The rain didn't fail to show up, but Alyssa didn't fail to give in. Despite a dozen umbrellas on the porch outside of where the girls got ready, they all braved the faint drizzle for photos, determined that the sun would come out. Once Alyssa walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her father, the rain stopped and just as Shawn kissed his wife for the first time, the sun broke through the trees, filling the ceremony with bright warm sunshine. It never ceases to amaze me when that happens, like God is marveling over their love uniting.
This was one of my favorite weddings and one that I looked forward to when wedding season kicked off. Alyssa and Shawn had great details - a guestbook record to sign, custom M+Ms, even a drawing of the two of them together with their cats. Alyssa had three pairs of bridal shoes - something I recommend all my brides to do - each representing a shade of her vivacious personality. And of course, her inner cat lady. The flower girls all had their own flower crowns and the alter was built by hand by the men of both families. Alyssa even climbed into the tree she said her vows under, in her wedding dress! How brave! From beginning to end, their wedding was like a fairy tale, and it was an honor to capture memories these two can look back on forever.
Congrats again to the Mr. + Mrs. Bosserman!
